Chinchillas range in cost from $130-$700 depending on the source. Some people sell their chinchillas for less, but I figured in the cost of transportation based on the closest hobby breeder that I have been able to locate. PetSmart sells their standard gray chinchillas for $150. Any price higher than that would be for a different color or fur type like velvet, ebony, or sapphire fur types and/or black, beige, mosaic, or white color.
These are the costs of the supplies and suppliers that I recommend. However, most of these products or similar products can be purchased at any major pet store. For online orders shipping cost are comparable to in store markup, but I have not included it in the shipping price unless otherwise noted. I look at quality and value, and actually some items are more cost effective to order online when compared to what the local major pet stores carries.
